Day 1 of 7

What Is Focus?

“Where focus goes, energy flows.”

- Tony Robbins

Today's Lesson

Focus means giving ALL your attention to THIS shot — not the last one, not the next one. Just this one. The best golfers in the world use a technique called “This Shot Only.” Before every shot, they say to themselves: “This is the only shot that matters right now.” When your mind wanders to your last bad shot or worries about the next hole, gently bring it back. THIS shot. THIS moment. That’s where champions live.

Champion Tip

Try picking a tiny, specific target for each shot — like a single leaf on a tree or a spot on the fairway. The smaller your target, the sharper your focus becomes!

Day 1 Complete!

Great job! Day 2 is now unlocked.

Day 2 of 7

Your Focus Enemies

“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”

- William James

Today's Lesson

Your focus has enemies, and they all live inside your head! Enemy #1: THE PAST — thinking about a bad shot you already hit. You can’t change it! Enemy #2: THE FUTURE — worrying about upcoming holes or your final score. You can’t control it yet! Enemy #3: OTHER PEOPLE — worrying about what your playing partners think. Your only job is YOUR game. The secret? When you catch a focus enemy sneaking in, just notice it and say: “Not now. This shot only.” Don’t fight the thought — just redirect.

Champion Tip

Make a game of catching your focus enemies! Every time you notice your mind wandering, give yourself a point. The more you catch, the stronger your mental awareness becomes.

Day 2 Complete!

Awesome work! Day 3 is now unlocked.

Day 3 of 7

Box Breathing Reset

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”

- Thich Nhat Hanh

Today's Lesson

When your focus breaks or you feel nervous, you need a RESET button. Box Breathing is your secret weapon. Here’s how: Breathe IN for 4 seconds. HOLD for 4 seconds. Breathe OUT for 4 seconds. HOLD for 4 seconds. That’s one box. Do 2-3 boxes and you’ll feel calm, focused, and ready. Navy SEALs use this exact technique before missions. Now YOU can use it before big shots. Practice this at home until it becomes automatic — then use it on the course whenever you need to reset.

Champion Tip

Try tracing a square in the air with your finger while you breathe: up for inhale, right for hold, down for exhale, left for hold. It makes Box Breathing easier to remember!

You’re halfway through! Day 4 is unlocked.

Day 4 of 7

The Pre-Shot Routine

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

- Aristotle

Today's Lesson

Every great golfer has a Pre-Shot Routine — the same steps before EVERY shot. Your routine is your anchor. When things get stressful, your routine keeps you steady. Here’s your 4-step routine: Step 1: STAND behind the ball and pick your target. Step 2: BREATHE — one deep breath to get focused. Step 3: SET UP to the ball with confidence. Step 4: TRUST — swing without thinking. The key? Do the EXACT same routine every single time. Same order, same rhythm, same commitment. Your routine is your superpower.

Champion Tip

Practice your routine at home without a club! Stand in your room, visualize a shot, and walk through all 4 steps. The more you rehearse it, the more automatic it becomes on the course.

Incredible! Day 5 is now unlocked.

Day 5 of 7

Handling Bad Shots

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”

- Vince Lombardi

Today's Lesson

Here’s a secret: EVERY golfer hits bad shots. Even the pros on TV! The difference? Champions have a plan for bad shots. It’s called the 10-Second Rule: You have 10 seconds to be frustrated. Feel it. Then it’s OVER. After 10 seconds, take a breath and move on. Here’s the Champion Pattern: Bad shot → Feel it (10 seconds max) → Deep breath → “What’s my NEXT shot?” → Pre-shot routine → Great next shot. The goal isn’t to never hit bad shots. The goal is to never let a bad shot turn into TWO bad shots.

Champion Tip

Some pros have a physical reset — like tugging their glove or adjusting their hat. Pick your own reset move! When you do it, it signals to your brain: “That shot is in the past. Fresh start now.”

Day 5 Complete!

Almost there! Day 6 is now unlocked.

Day 6 of 7

Playing for Process

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

- Robert Louis Stevenson

Today's Lesson

Most kids (and adults!) only care about their SCORE. But champions focus on their PROCESS. What’s process? It’s doing the RIGHT THINGS regardless of the score. Today, you’re going to score yourself differently. Give yourself a point for each of these: Did I do my pre-shot routine? Did I stay focused on this shot only? Did I handle bad shots with the 10-Second Rule? Did I take deep breaths when I needed to? You can shoot a high score and still WIN at process. And here’s the magic: when you win at process, the scores take care of themselves.

Champion Tip

Create a simple process scorecard in your notebook: rate yourself 1-5 on focus, routine, breathing, and resilience after each hole. At the end of the round, your process total matters more than your golf score!

One more day to go! Day 7 is unlocked.

Day 7 of 7

Your Champion Review

“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them — a desire, a dream, a vision.”

- Muhammad Ali

Today's Lesson

Congratulations — you’ve completed 7 days of building your champion mindset! Let’s review everything you’ve learned: Day 1: “This Shot Only” — staying present. Day 2: Recognizing your focus enemies. Day 3: Box Breathing to reset. Day 4: Your Pre-Shot Routine anchor. Day 5: The 10-Second Rule for bad shots. Day 6: Playing for process, not score. These aren’t just golf skills — they’re LIFE skills. Focus, breathing, routines, resilience, and process thinking will help you in school, sports, and everything you do. You’re not just a golfer. You’re a CHAMPION in training.

Champion Tip

The best way to keep these skills strong is to teach them to someone else. When you explain focus, breathing, or the 10-Second Rule to a friend, you understand them even deeper yourself!
